Documentary Street Photography Workshop: The Art of Seeing
Join Derrick for a hands-on street photography workshop where we go beyond just taking pictures. The streets are alive with stories and you’ll learn how to capture candid, documentary-style photos, focusing on spontaneous moments and everyday life. Whether you're new to street photography or looking to improve, this is a great chance to practice and refine your skills in a vibrant setting.
After our photo walk, we’ll return to class to select, edit, and review your best shots together. Whether you're just starting out or looking to sharpen your storytelling skills, this is a great chance to practice, learn, and grow as a photographer.
Basic requirements: Students must already understand the Exposure triangle. Bring your camera and Laptop with editing software you are familiar with.
Derrick Ong isn't just a wedding photographer; he's a master of capturing pure, unadulterated emotion. His minimalist approach lets the beauty of the moment shine, proving that sometimes, less is so much more. This ain't luck—it's serious skill and artistry.
His work speaks for itself: over 100 international wedding awards from the likes of ISPWP, WPJA, AGWPJA, and PDN Top Knots. Seriously impressive. He's even been ranked among the top 20 international wedding photographers by AGWPJA—three times! And get this: he's the only Singaporean wedding photographer invited twice to teach a workshop at Cambridge University. That's next-level.
His secret weapons? Creative composition, killer framing, stunning black and white photography, masterful lighting, and storytelling that hits you right in the feels. With over 80 international awards under his belt, Derrick is an award-winning member of ISPWP, WPJA, AGWPJA, and PDN Top Knots. Basically, he's a total boss.
